Dear Mr Sathya

Subject: Disturbance Caused by Your Dog

My name is Sapna Pai and I live in Manoj Nivas, next door to you. I am writing to complain
about your puppy. I am told that you adopted it from the local animal shelter last week. While
I appreciate this kind gesture, I have to point out that the puppy has been a nuisance.

Not only does it jump over the common fence into our garden at night and destroy our
saplings, but it also keeps sitting in our garden and barking throughout the night. Its pitiful
barking keeps my family and me awake all night and the lack of sleep is telling on our
health. We are unable to focus on our work and suffer from headaches and grogginess. Please
check if hunger, lethargy or possible illness is making the puppy behave like this. Maybe an
appointment with a vet will help improve things.

I request you to find an immediate solution to this, failing which I will be forced to report the
puppy’s behaviour to animal control authorities.
